This was once called the Lady Luck Hotel, over 50 years ago. It’s a vintage location for Nevada gaming, very close to the original casino, the Golden Gate. This hotel has two full towers of rooms and are adding another which should be completed in 2020. If you stay at least 3 nights you can get some of the best rates in the city. When you want to see historic casinos and the Fremont Street Experience, it’s worth ignoring the glaring orange color scheme inside this hotel and taking advantage of its very reasonable prices.

It’s just north of the intersection of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard, and close to the Mob Museum. They call the surrounding area “Downtown3rd” now. If you’re taking a tour of the Fremont St. casinos, you can include the Grand easily. Here it is on GoogleMaps.

Casino

They offer over 400 slots including classic like MegaBucks, Tarzan; and new ones like Dragon Link, FarmVille. Video poker. In denominations from a penny to $25.

Table games include blackjack, roulette, craps, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em, Mississippi Stud, Pai Gow Poker. They hold blackjack tournaments.

Freedom Beat — a live music venue plus chef-designed menu from Chef Scott Commings of Hell’s Kitchen Season 12. Open 24 hrs, and has a Brunch on Sat. & Sun. 10am to 2pm.
Triple George Grill — Excellent dry-aged steaks, seafood, plenty more. Voted Best of Las Vegas for 6 years in a row.
Citrus Grand Pool Deck — Big rooftop pool party. Infinity pool, restaurant and cabanas. Games of foosball, table tennis. Free to visit. Has its own menu by Scott Commings of side foods: Lavosh Flatbreads, Hummus & pita, tacos, soft serve ices.
Furnace Bar — Close to the casino floor. Industrial decor with drinks and burgers, chicken fingers, and wings. Show your Grand Rewards card for a big discount.
The Commissary – an upscale bar with pop art decor on the walls, comfy groupings of seats, and flatscreen TVs. It is available, like the ultra-elegant Fremont Room and the semi-private Triple George dining room, to be rented for receptions or other events.

Neighborhood Dining

Art Bar — Steps from the lobby. Early in the day it’s a breakfast place for coffee and simple foods; nighttime means it’s a bar serving custom cocktails named for masterpieces in art.
Pizza Rock — This one is not inside the casino building, but directly across the street. Gourmet pizzas and all kinds of Italian dishes, Kobe burgers, cocktails.
Hogs & Heifers Saloon — The name is due to its music, grounded in classic and outlaw country. Bartenders really get into things, using bullhorns to take part in the fun. Open from noon to very late every day (4am). Also across the street from the Grand.
Side Bar – Across the street. A vintage style, slick cocktail place.

Other Features

The Grand has a huge, sunny pool that the general public can pay to swim in, too. Has lots and lots of lounging chairs, and a pool bar nearby with a party scene.

For entertainment, every weekend has a DJ Lineup event on the casino floor, when their scheduled performing DJ will spin tunes. Comedy shows are regularly held in the Spare Room, the New Year’s Eve celebration is a taco party this year. The hotel is a partner in the larger events in the neighborhood too, such as the upcoming NFR Wrangler Rodeo.
